Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or residence and depart for Lake Naivasha, one of Kenya’s most famous birding destinations. The journey passes through the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at scenic viewpoints for landscape photography. Upon arrival, take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you will spot water birds such as African Fish Eagles, Kingfishers, Great Cormorants, and Pelicans. Lunch will be served at your lodge, followed by an afternoon guided birdwalk in the surrounding areas. Look out for the Lilac-breasted Roller, Superb Starling, and Yellow-billed Stork. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge by the lake.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru – Return to Nairobi
After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, a world-renowned birding paradise. This alkaline lake is famous for its large populations of Flamingos, Great White Pelicans, and over 450 recorded bird species. The park is also home to endangered wildlife such as white rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffes, which you may encounter during your birding game drive.
